We started the 2020 Flint Youth Film Festival workshops in early March, but we, like many other things, were unfortunately sidelined by COVID-19.
But as they say in the entertainment business, the show must go on.
The Flint Youth Film Festival will now be offering workshops online beginning in July. We will teach newcomers who want to learn a new skill and seasoned filmmakers who want to refine their craft.
The workshops will be taught by award-winning Michigan filmmakers Rodney W. Brown, Cory Taylor, Brandon Mata, Matt Sisco, and Samantha Kohlhorst.
The two week workshop will feature sessions on Camera, Lighting, Sound, and Editing. Workshop participants will create a 3-5 minute documentary on one of two topics: Life During COVID-19 or Black Lives Matter. Participants will be working in DaVinci Resolve which is a free download (link below) Each workshop will be two hours of instruction and hands-on editing.
The workshops will take place over two weeks. Monday, July 6th - Friday, July 10th, 11 am - 1 pm
Monday, July 13th - Friday, July 17th, 11 am - 1 pm
